Critical planning futures brings together an international range of voices from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to explore new directions in planning theory, interrogate planning´s orthodoxy, and push de boundaries of contemporary theory using ideas both from within planning and beyond. Dr. Matthew Wargent (editor of the book) will talk about the motivations for the book, exploring the relationship between the planning theory canon and its applicability (or lack of it) in the Global South. Dr. Raúl Díaz, will share an overview of his participation in chapter 8, and Dr. Emma Morales will reflect upon the emergence of new voices in the field of urban planning that may be relevant to academia and doctoral studies.
